Kaizen is the practice of continuous improvement. A core principle of Kaizen is that big results come from many small changes accumulated over time; improvement is achieved by taking small, comfortable steps instead of drastic, rigorous changes. I can comfortably say that that’s what I’ve been doing for the last couple of months. I’ve been taking small steps and slowly learning basic garment construction by myself through books, watching YouTube videos over and over again and I’m happy with my progress. I admit my learning is a tad slow since I have to really plan my time so my school work doesn’t go neglected but I’m happy with what I’ve been able to achieve this year!
This year has really been sort of tough and stressful blogging-wise since I decided to be blogging about outfits that I’ve made myself. So I’ve had to plan my time with regards on what to make, buy fabric, make patterns, sew and then take photos of the outfit for the blog. So excuse me, if I haven’t been able to post every single week although I would have wanted to. I really can’t wait to see what this new year will bring; I will be finishing school and I also very much intend to start making clothes for people other than myself. So this year will be a year of self discovery and really making big decisions of what direction I want to take with my life!
So for my final post, I’ve put up an outfit I’m really reallly proud of! This year I’ve just been making single outfits either tops or bottoms but never really a combination of the two so I’m really proud of this little number. So there you have it, a skater dress with a sheer panel gotten from the remains of this skirt and with a zipper detail at the back! Love it! Happy New Year!
